Amelco Industries Ltd is one of the first industries in the south-eastern Mediterranean and Middle East area to supply most of the mattress producers with the necessary raw materials and machinery for the manufacture of innerspring mattresses. The company's objective is to continuously strive to improve the final mattress product and act as a partner to its customers by supporting their bedding needs. The company was established in 1972 in Nicosia, Cyprus, originally as a raw material manufacturing firm for innerspring mattresses. Bonnell spring units, coir fibre (coconut) pads and cotton press felt were the first items to be produced. By 1985, polyurethane foam, polyester wadding, pillows, hard felt and cotton wadding, had also been added to the product list. Amelco Industries Ltd soon became the leading raw materials supplier not only in Cyprus but also in the region, with its success and reputation being based on the high quality and service standards associated with its name. In parallel, the exports of the company have been constantly increasing, with 50% of the company's output being exported to customers across 3 continents.
